DIY Half Bath Makeover - One Room Challenge
I am so happy to finally show you how my half bath makeover turned out!
It’s been awhile since I posted due in part because of my pregnancy with my first child (a baby boy due in December). Needless to say, the first trimester really kicked my butt and made it a bit harder to get this project done.
But after a few months of on-and-off work it is finally complete!
Here’s a look at the room before. It definitely wasn’t in the worst shape but just really wasn’t my style. I wasn’t a huge fan of the wallpaper the previous owners hung up or the glass shelves or the hanging mirror and just really wanted to update the space and make it more cohesive with the rest of my home.
The first thing I did was tear down the wallpaper and patch the walls with some joint compound.
I then painted the walls using the same colors I’ve used in some other parts of our home (Celestial Glow and Madison Avenue by Behr).
I knew I wanted to do a black and white design in this space and decided to create a diagonal line on both sides of the bathroom to really focus the eye on the back wall.
I then replaced the three glass shelves with these wooden ones using some cheap plywood from Home Depot and some gold brackets I bought in Target’s dollar spot.
I used the same decor I had before but definitely think it looks far better with the black and white than it did with the wallpaper.
I then hung this gold oval mirror from Target,
swamped out our silver toilet paper holder for this much more modern one from Target’s Magnolia section
and spray painted our towel ring matte black.
And that completed the room!
