3 Affordable Ways To Update Your Kitchen

I am so excited to show you guys my kitchen refresh!

I had been dying to use some of these renter friendly, affordable products and I am amazed at what a difference they made!

I hope this inspires you to make a few changes in your own space!

Overall our kitchen was definitely not the worst in terms of layout. The previous owners of our home made quite a few updates like knocking down a wall and adding a peninsula. But the finishing touches they chose did not exactly fit my style.

For example, while I love the subway tile, I was not the biggest fan of the center tile in the backsplash. The brown and blue tones were just not my thing. However, knowing that in order to permanently change it you would likely have to tear out all of the subway tile as well, I decided to go with a more temporary option.

That’s where the peel-and-stick backsplash came in.

This product was extremely easy to use and allowed me to see how a more gray-toned tile would look without tearing out all the existing backsplash and spending a ton of money. It’s of course a great renter-friendly option as well.

Another thing I knew I wanted to do was change out our lament countertops for a stone, but that just wasn’t in the budget. So, rather than make a permanent change I decided to do another more temporary solution that would allow me to see what a different countertop would look like…

…marble contact paper.

The contact paper was incredibly easy to put on and definitely added some brightness to the kitchen. However, I did run out and ultimately decided to forgo it as I liked the darker countertop better with the backsplash.

I still definitely recommend this product if you are looking to change up your kitchen, bathroom or furniture.

The last change I knew I wanted to make was to our cabinet knobs and pulls.

I knew a matte black finish would pop more on our white cabinets and give me more of the look I was going for.

All of these changes definitely made a huge difference in the look and feel of our kitchen without breaking the bank or making any permanent damage.
