Dining Room Refresh | DIY Macrame Table Runner Redo
I finally finished our little dining room refresh just in time for Thanksgiving!
Making just a few simple changes really made the room feel more complete. While I plan to do more to this room in the future, I am happy with it for now.
Here’s a look at the room before.
The first thing I did in this room was to swap out our old chandelier for this more modern black pendant light. It’s a simple change but I love the added boho feel.
I also knew I wanted to display some more records in the corner with my record player.
I had been seeing these drawer pulls everywhere and thought why not flip them around and use them to display my records on the wall.
In the other corner I decided to add a shelf above our little bar area using a piece of wood I had from work and some black shelf brackets I got from Amazon.
I also knew I wanted to create a small basket wall.
I had bought these baskets from Facebook Marketplace last year but didn’t really love the green stripe. So, using a sharpie, I decided to turn the green black.
It definitely didn’t turn out perfect but still gave me the look I was going for.
On the other side I then added a map of our favorite city as a personal touch.
As for the table… I loved the black macrame runner I had made for the half wall in our living room so I decided to make a longer one for our dining room table.
I then decorated our table for Thanksgiving and made some candle holders and napkin rings out of some wooden rings I had.
First, I glued the rings together with some E6000 glue.
And then for the candle holders I added some air dry clay to the middle, smoothed it down on one side and pressed a tapered candle into the other.
I think they add the perfect neutral touch!
And that completed our dining room refresh!
